Number one: update packages for 6.0.x/2.0.x many, many packages are "not available for you distrobution", only 5.1.x/1.0.13 (but no client).

Sure: Aisles.

What about something like the Deviant Art plugin?

Sorry, for clarity, existing issues with the current functionality (not necessarily feature requests)...

In Freespire 2.0 and Linspire 6.0, I would like 3 packages frequently updated and kept current:

Firefox, Thunderbird, and Pidgin.

For example the stable version of Firefox 2 is currently at 2.0.0.8, when the latest version is 2.0.0.13.

I have no issues with functionality. It works very well.

I only have feature requests... ;)

Client is OK.

About CNR.com - agree with Bob: Packages need to be kept up to date to current versions. Without that, I think it will be hard to too many to take CNR.com too seriously. At a minimum the 10-20 most popular programs.

The process for purchasing commercial software needs to be reviewed for each product. I had an issue with Pixel which I managed to work round but am not convinced that it's been sorted.

Saying that, I've never had an issue in the past with LOS5 and CNR. B-)

I would only add that if these three programs Firefox, Thunderbird, and Pidgin that are updated often by the development groups, that updated plugins that are required for each program also be provided for each new version of released plugin Updates that maybe needed as well. Even more so with currently released Flashplayer security issues with browsing, the newest updated plugins need added for Linspire and Freespire users when they are released. This is what allows the transition ease to using Linspire and/or Freespire for the casual computer user. Easy access to web services using Linspire/Freespire.

For the CNR Client...

1. When starting up (my system is shutdown each day), the client always opens up Firefox & takes me to the cnr.com homepage. The option "Open CNR webpage in default browser on startup" is not selected.

2. After starting up, it wants to update a bunch of applications with a message that pops up. On a few occasions, it didn't pop up with the message, but rather, showed the message down in the system tray icon. It would be better if it did this all the time so I don't have to click no. I'm also curious as to why it wants to update applications it didn't install. I've only used the client to install CNB apps, not anything else. I use the Adept Manager & Add/Remove Programs in Kubuntu 7.10 to install everything else.

What version of the CNR Client is installed (apt-cache policy cnr-client)? Latest for *buntu 7.10 is 0.2.3800-0cnr1~gutsy1

CNR is designed as a complete package manager (just like Add/Remove or Adept), so it reviews all the packages on the system and will recommend updates just like the other tools (if you installed something via CNR that an update was available via Adept, it would also recommend that update). Either package manager can be used to install packages (just not at the same time :)...

0.2.3800-0cnr1~gutsy1 is installed. Thanks for the explanation on the other part. It'd still be nice to see it not ask the question, but make a note of it in the system tray all the time. That way, I can choose when i want to install, rather than click no all the time. :)

Requesting a REPAIR tab. It seems that DPKG got screwed up and will not let me uninstall it nor can I re-install it and therefore all applications fail according to CNR. Yet the app is there but does not work.

Interesting proposal. Regarding your issue, from the console command prompt run:~$ sudo apt-get update (that should provide the error and the solution). Once complete, run cnr from the same command prompt and reply back with any error messaging from the console output...
